Scuse my lack of computer skills but I've tried to download some files with the extension *.ptrn. Windows on my machine (Exporer :geek: does not recognize this file association. The file extension is nowhere to be found on my machine so I went to one of the microsoft sites and tried to get info on it. NADA...ZILCH. Help Please!

Me too....and I consider myself above average when it comes to computers. I know that Minelab wanted to go with a proprietary file extension, but why not develop a software program that is Windows/Apple based. I am hoping we get a response as well.

Look at the topic Etrac Manager on the forum...It is close to the bottom....I like it a lot better than the Minelab exchange....you can download your modes and patterns and change anything and then upload them to the etrac....I used it this morning to set up two new coin patterns with the edit feature. Very user friendly....

you dont need ptrn files everything is in the program to download and upload.

Your right, there are not any working file associations with *.ptrn files around the www.

I did try and associate *.ptrn fies with a program called PtrnEditor(see link below)on Win7 x32, but it didn't work for me.

Minelab Etrac Exchange will let you view, exchange , upload and download *.ptrn and *.mode files that you create on the Etrac it self first.

The 2 programs from here: (follow the link)

http://www.findmall.com/read.php?63,1420650,1420650#msg-1420650

will let you edit the *.ptrn files on your computer screen and save them to the Etrac.

So far, in all cases, the relevant files need to be accessed from within the respective programs.
