Deep barber half.

Sure is a nice coin... About how deep did that small coil go to get that one? I have yet to find a Barber Half in my 25 years of hunting...

Wow, nice job on the half. They are great coins to find, especially old ones. You seem to be getting along just fine with the LTD.
How about some details? How deep, what kind of stie, etc. We in the "frozen north" are getting our detecting fix through you guys.
Keep hitting it and showing us what the LTD can do.

HH, Don

That is awesome. I hit a 1890's quarter with my F70 at about 9 inches with the six inch coil. That convinced me I loved those little coils. They are so light, easy to pinpoint, and fast to recover that I had a hard time taking it off. I think you are going to have a very good year this year with your LTD.

HH,. Don

Yes until I head for culpepper.

I would go stir crazy. One snow storm in Virginia is about all I can stand.

The site is an old country church/school house that is loaded with trash. I was very surprised to find the half. Most high tones at this site are aluminum.

Beautiful find!!!

I got the 4 x 6-1/2" towards the end of last season and only used it one time, but it was in a trash infested place that drove me nuts with my stock 11" coil. I pulled a few keepers out in just a few minutes, so I have a game plan for when I get out next, whenever that'll be.

I just bought the 5" on Monday so I'm anxious to test both of them to see which one performs the best. The only thing I have against the eliptical coil is the VDI values are different than what I spent all summer learning, but it really sounded off on the good targets in the middle of all those pulltabs and bottlecaps. I'm anxious to see how the 5" hits on the bottlecaps because the 4x6" concentric was a big improvement over the DD coil.

Details, details, details please

Settings? Was the coin masked? What kind of soil? Trashy? Iron?

Nice score, looks like she'll clean up nicely and it's not a bad date:
