:pulltab: on the F75 LTD in BP mode :rage:

wow!..that sounds kinda screwed up!..one would think first texas is aware of this?.
what a genuine pain in the a**!..fortunately the saving grace would be that HOPEFULLY
not many pull tabs buried at those depth levels!

Thanks for all the replies, I think this is a worthy discussion and I hope First Texas is reading it. I do not find iron co-located with the false ID'ing tabs, just tabs, and as Jim (ziphius) pointed out, they can be the tiniest fragment of a tab, like a beavertail rolled up, or such. I've seen the same scenario on gum wrappers or such wadded up, if their not wadded up they read correctly as foil, but what a drag to dig a nice hi-coin TID and retrieve a gum wrapper.

I haven't found the confidence meter to be accurate enough to rely on it, so I find it's not much help in these scenarios. It's great if your in a field relic hunting and it upaverages a small button to get your attention, but in reality I think while relic hunting your probably going to dig everything but iron anyhow, so I'm not sure how much benefit it really has there either as most folks aren't cherry picking silver in relic hunts. It is a royal PITA when turf hunting, something I hope Fisher is able to get a handle on and resolve in their next F-series machines.

If anyone has a proven way to help mitigate this issue, I'd love to hear it

Brian, yes I found a proven way to deal with this issue. It starts with an "E". Ends with a "c". :bouncy: - Jim

Your cruel Jim :punch:

They are starting to make a believer out of me the more I hunt with folks that have them. Once I get back to working, I definitely plan on getting one of those "E***C" machines

Good post Brian,

When deep silver hunting, I am not sure there is an answer...unless one is willing to miss a silver. I think it was Elton that first mentioned checking the conf. bar and this is at least a partial answer for me. Fortunately, deep tabs don't come along for me all that often, but when they do, they are tough not to dig. HH jim tn
