PULSE DEVIL QUESTION ???

CLARK

New member
DOES THE PULSE DEVIL USE THE PHASE SHIFT PRINCIPLE TO I.D. A TARGET--OR DOES IT USE SOME OTHER METHOD???

The Pulse Devil is strictly a time domain detector. It does not compare signal phases as per a VLF. The answer to the question is no.
The discrimination method has not been disclosed.

.. I remember Dave saying that it's a hybrid detector which functions as a VLF detector while the transmit pulse is 'on' (both the transmit and receive coils/circuits operating.. after which (when the x-mit pulse shuts off) it acts like a PI. ...Willy.
