Pushing the Settings knob.....??

Roland58

New member
Quite by accident today, I found that pushing the Settings knob will display the current setting for the last selection made. For example, if the "dot" is next to Sensitivity and you push the Settings knob, the display will show the current setting for Sensitivity without going through the Menu. Not sure how much this will help anyone, but, I couldn't find anything in the manual about it.

You are right Rol. also you can re-adjust it by remain holding it in and rotating the knob, I always make my last setting SEN for that purpose.

Thanks, shooter. That's good to know about the adjusting, although, I would have to use my left hand or let go of the grip in order to do that. I think it would be easier to push the Menu and change the settings with my thumb....as I have been doing. I may have overlooked it, but, I didn't see anything in the manual about this and looked again this evening.

got it from another site. Did you check out the full Disc post?

IF I remember right,It will stay on the process for 7 seconds then revert back if you are going through the settings......You have that long to turn the dail and adjust......hh......Dan

That is correct, Dan. I guess it would save a little "thumb travel" when adjusting Sens. or whatever it is set on. It seems like the Menu function could be incorporated in the depressing of the Settings knob and simply eliminate the Menu button, or, am I missing something?

Quote from shooter, " got it from another site. Did you check out the full Disc post?"

What site would that be? and what is the "full Disc post?"

I guess since the menu botton just scrolls you through the menu.......you can dail up or down what you want......Its easy enough for me........good luck ......Dan

I set the DISC adj. all the way up to max "65". It was another detecting forum have to find it again then I'll post it.

Dan, me too!

Shooter, Disc at 65? That ought to narrow things down for you!! (I found your other thread about the "experiment" with high Disc)

Disc at 65 ... ??? ... why?
Wouldn't that eliminate most all targets but the very high conductive ones?

Once ... years ago at a beach hunt in Michigan where they buried silver rounds in the sand ... I set the disc on my Shadow X2 almost all the way up.
That eliminated all targets except silver ... it worked great ... didnt waste any time on the smaller targets and got more than my share of the big silver.
Didnt find any copper tokens but that was the trade off.

Please tell us more about this.
