got the old 1280x out;put in new batteries(DURACELL!!);turned it on;and-NUTTIN-didnt work...got to lookin around;found the black wire goin to the battery pack broke off at the solder(that connection has ALWAYS seemed -and looked-cheaply done,anyway)SO....went to my trusty Radio Shack1 mile away;and spent the wallet-busting sum of$2.11 to get a pack of 9 volt connectors-cut the old one off;threw the new one in there(I always thought the original battery pack didnt have enough slack in it,so I built in another 2 feet);threw some E-tape at it;turned it on and-!!!-SUCCESS!!!-Works like BRAND NEW!!! Actually, the 2 feet of slack is more like 2-3 inches-I just have a flair for the dramatic...ANYWAY:::Detectors are packed(HEY!!!Has anybody come up with the idea of using a Golf Guard like I use for storing/transporting my detectors??Its for shipping golf bags on airlines)-made of plastic;holds my 2 detectors, and all digging tools,x-cept for by sand scoop...HEY MAGYAR!!!Come on up and detect with me,would LOVE the company of a pretty woman!!Just dont say anything to my wife-she is jealous,ya know...

With two foot of slack you could make a battery holder on your hat!!

Bring in the good stuff! The 180X is a good machine. I used one for about 2 years untill it drowned.

The mice got the detector too! :)
