put coins back in circulation!

I would imagine us detectorists put millions back in use so the goverment don't have to produce more, how I see it we do our country a service because a lot of the coins would be lost forever! That's just me thinking!

With the exception of coins dating 1964 or older, I have returned almost all coins to service. Traditionally quarters are use for laundry. Nickles and dimes are saved and then spent on things needed. All pennies are put in a jar and cashed out one each year just before Christmas. The more we return, the more that will be once again lost. We then, in turn, find them again and the process continues. That's my take on the matter.

Yep Martin good point on the matter, I agree its a cycle, but there are still a lot of good keepers that may never be found! You gotta love it and live it to get it! HHH

I had a few of them myself too!
