Put program in from utube but pattern did not change?

I'm finally getting the courage to venture out of stock programs
was excited to find jewelry coin program on utube by NiagaraCountyNY
did all steps but when i pressed detect button it showed a regular "L" pattern not the one observed in video
PLEASE what am i doing wrong?
I would have liked to have contacted NiagaraCountyNY directly but i tried with no success
I'm no computer geek but I'm trying..HELP

I've had this happen a few times and it can be frustrating.

Press EDIT

After you edit your pattern and get it to look like you want.

Press the DETECT touchpad ( I know you did this, but you should get a question)

Answer YES to "Load into Smartfind"

Press Menu

Press Discriminiation

Press SAVE

Pick the slot you want to save it in.





Try this and see if it works. If not we'll see what we can do. Many times I could get it to look like what I want, then turn the machine off and "thought" I'd saved it when I loaded it into smartfind, but you have to do those last 4 steps.

I don't know what happened to Niagra. There's another guy on youtube (RRDigger - I think) that has hunted with Niagra. I wish he'd come back, I miss his hunts.

It is a little confusing and it is a lot maddening to lose a pattern you worked hard to create.

im putting the program back now
but what edit pattern works
im still looking at the etrac book and your instructions but i cant figure what i need to enter for edit
on the positive side i am certainly more comfortable using menue

Are you entering Niagra's pattern in by hand or uploading from your computer on the E-Trac X-change?

If you're putting the "Black where its supposed to be black, and the white where its supposed to be white" then you're already Editing. When you get done doing that you go to DETECT button and so on per insructions. One thing for sure. Make sure you're saving under the Discrimination part of the menu and not the MODES part. Modes are the settings, not the patterns.

Doing it by hand
I did save it and made it my second program
the graph changed but does not look like the one Niagara has
Ill be trying it out tomorrow

FYI Niagara's account on utube is closed, very sad

went out today for short time with husband
I had the program/not the same graph but different and the husband had the stock program
he got 4 coins and i got 8 coins
no definitive conclusions but Ill update when possible

eva, niagara county may have updated his program since he posted the one u r trying to load in thats may be y it appears different.

enjoying the rain? It appears we we will have one sunny and nine rainy in the next ten days.
As for the pattern, I believe it is because i don't know how to turn the graph.
Niagara's graph is vertical and mine is horizontal.
But the good news is the pattern changed enough to include gold which i did not have before.

If you want to save the pattern and the program together on a "My Mode" ...you first edit and save your desired pattern....Go to youtube and check out the video on "How to accept silver dollars on etrac" for an excellent tutorial on how to do this...then enter any settings you want to use and save.....Now you are ready to save to a "My Mode"....click on menu ,....go to user modes and select and click save....click a right or left arrow to save....scroll down to a my mode box you want to use and then click a right or left arrow to save..the press the detect button to start hunting....the next time you want to go hunting you can click menu and user mode and select your mode and the pattern you designed and the settings you saved will be ready to use....
