Quarter day at the soccer field......

New member
Back to the soccer field this morning. Hunted the perimeter on two sides of one field (they don't allow any digging on the field regardless of how "surgical" you may be). I was rewarded with 12 quarters, five nickels (I love finding nickels), 11 dimes and 5 pennies. I usually come back with more pennies than anything else........not today. Four and a half hours of hunting.....that equates to $0.97/hour and a goodly amount of exercise. I love this hobby, just need to find a place with some OLD coins!!

Roland, nice going, you are catching on fast. Finding the right spot and getting permission where there might be old coins is the hard part, especially when your area is just not that old. My town was founded in 1906 so it is not really that old but there still should be old coins around. I agree it is a blast. Keep it up. Randy

Good going Ro thats a good amount of coins for the day. Research is the KEY try the road dept. or the town eng.'s or tax assessors for copies of there old maps, try e-bay for old pic's by your area.
