Quattro Discrimination Patterns?

kd4hee

Hi All

I was just wondering if you Quattro users have any special discrimination patterns you use on the Beach. Also what mode mode you mostly use ferrous or conductivity?

Thanks
Kevin

I always did extremely well with mine at the beach in All Metal mode running manual sensitivity at 17 or 18 with Ferrous tones. And I didn't dig EVERYTHING, but running in All Metal allows you to maintain threshold and to hear what's down there. I dug pretty much all positive numbers though, at least until I knew the machine well and learned what bottlecaps and a few other undesirable targets sounded like. Of course no machine can tell the difference between a gold ring and aluminum trash, so if you try to disc that out you WILL lose gold rings, with any machine.

I use the same settings as Mike, and he's right about the gold rings and aluminium trash. But you'll also learn as you go that different sounds go with different items, in many cases.
