Quattro performance.

Does the Quattro perform as good as the Safari on depth , but just slower recovery time. The Quattro I have does very good on depth. I been using the High trashg setting and can't tell any loss of depth. Thanks, Glen

On another thread somewhere in this forum this was said concerning an air test:
Using a Safari with the 11"DD Coil at sensitivity 18 a quarter was found at 12.5" depth,
dime at 11.5", nickel at 12.5" and a penny at 12.5" deep.
There's more testing in this thread, but you will have to search a few months back to
find it.
The Safari has had many improvements over the Quattro, but they are minor,
such as greater depth, discrimination, real time pin-pointing mode, etc.

Hello Glen,
I have a Safari and a Quattro and they are very close to each other in the depth department.
My Quattro has the older 10.5 inch coil anf the Safari has the newer pro coil on it.I think that
the depth would be about the same if the Q had the pro coil on it.I have been using my Quattro
with the 8' minelab coil on it the last few days in the same trashy park that I always hunt in and
have found some good old coins.1907 V nickel,1935 Buffalo and a half dozen older wheat penn
ies.I have been running the Q in high trash mode and it has been doing a great job at finding the
new and older stuff.I was thinking about getting rid of it but have changed my mind about that
in the last week or so. Gary

The Quattro has a low trash mode and high trash mode just like the Safari
which helps in the trashy areas. The high trash mode makes the detector
reset faster after you get a signal in a trashy area. Gary
