QUESTION 2500 USERS

What is your most productive or custom settings for nailing those silver coins at 6+" in depth? I really don't have one and fear that I may be missing those deep silver coins.

Usually for me I use zero mode. It seems to help me distinguish the targets better. In Zero mode I can tell if its a false coin beep coming from trash or a good hit. I also run my sens. on 10.5 if possible. These deeper coins usually image pretty accurate as size b but the id jumps around to different coins as I check the hole while digging. Also usually these coins will show at 6 inches deep til I start digging the hole then jump to 7 or 8 once the hole is about 4 inches deep. They have to be there to find them though.

With few targets, I hunt in true all metal mode using either the 8 1/2" or 121/2" imaging coil. The targets will still register in the coin area, with a nice loud stable signal. To cherry pick silver in trashier places, I hunt with this (favorite) program shown below. I pretty well dig all signals. silver usually gives you a nice belltone sound and a nice "B" or "C" size.

Good Luck

To begin with all silver coins aren't deep. Most are well within the reach of most detectors unless they have been buried by hand or covered with landfill. I've found coins from the 1700's at two inches and clad at eightinches in the same area. It's a myth that all old coins are buried halfway to China.

Just run in coins mode and set your sensitivity at 6 or 6.5. If ground conditions will allow you can run it higher. The 2500 is a deep seeker so you don't have to max anything out to get there. If you can handle all metal then run it in Fast Track if you think everything is buried out of sight.

Yup all metal when in a clean site. zero mode works good to, was my favorite. I do prefer to have sens at around 8.
And Bill is right not all silver coins are deep.

Good Hunting,
