Question about bandido and pantera

The first two Bandidos ( original and Bandido ll ) were made in the early 1990's and the Pantera ( two tone notch detector) was in production during the same time period.The Bandido's used two 9 volt batteries and the Pantera used 8 AA batteries and was a little heavier. All three featured a slow motion discriminate mode with adjustable disc., sensitivity, threshold and a threshold based all metal mode with a ten turn manual ground balance. With the stock 8 inch coils......if tuned the same....all three should get similar depth. These three detectors are not

I have 2 panteras.Gotem mounted on a straight shaft.Got a sef coil in today.Looks like I'm gonna like it.
They are very good units.
