Question about EMI

I currently have an ORX and a Nokta coin and relic detector. I find the ORX is much more sensitive to EMI. Wonder what others who have multiple detectors have found?

What frequency are you running on the ORX? I use the Deus and a kfz of about 28 should eliminate emi and is still great on coins or relics.

I have run it from 5 to about 20 depending on wether I was using the 11” X35 or the round high frequency coil. Will try it at 28 and see what happens.

I have a couple of sites adjacent to a high voltage power line. My old Whites DFX didn't do well there with EMI no matter what coil or frequency I used. It would squawk if I got within 100 feet of that power line. When I got my Deus, I was amazed that I could hunt until I was about 15 feet from that high voltage line.

Something you can try--hold coil several inches above the EMI ground and restart the machine. It will likely de-tune a bit but it might be useable.
