Question about Excal headphones

Blink

Member
I must have a loose wire on one side of my headphones as it sometimes works and then cuts out and I only have sound on one side. Being that they are sealed is there anyway to repair them other than sending them for repair? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi mate what you do is find out where the break is you have to hope it is at the headphone end not the unit end hold a heap of the cable tight at the unit end and wriggle the wire at the phone end if it is not happening there go down the lead and wriggle the lead at the unit end you will find it that way as for the speakers in the earpieces they are usually silicon ed in so just clean all the silicone out fix the wire then refit the speaker .terry in oz

Thanks Terry, the short appears to be at the headphone end so I will try it and see what happens. I'm sure once I get the ear cup apart I can fix it. Should the cup be resealed with a clear silicon adhesive ?

Hi blink mate i dont think the ear piece needs silicone only the speaker piece ,no clear silicone would be fine only try and use non acidic type as acidic type may affect the wiring.go hard terry in oz

I had a bad set of Koss that had the same issue you described. Minelab warrantied them and it's ALL good now. Use that set for back-up, as I now use the Gray Ghost Underwaters. They are a night and day difference, I will never go back.
