QUESTION ABOUT HEADHUNTER PI

A

Hello, say I was talking with another waterhunter and we were wondering why, if the hh-pi and cs7 both can tell iron from other metals by turning knobs [ which takes 2 hands, 1 of which has a scoop in it] then why cant that particular setting be set with a pushbutton like the pinpoint button on a cz20 ? Some arrangement to operate with 1 hand. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks for your time. I'm really thinking on the hh when it has a little in field practice time under it's belt.

Chuck,
The question is a good one, and it could be done. The biggest problem is the available space to do this in within the detector housing. This becomes quite apparent when working within the design of the HeadHunter PI housing. Not only do we need a waterproof push button, but we also need a small circuit to be able to adjust the range of the push button setting. With the HeadHunter you would still need a free hand to check it.
On the CS7 there is a little room in the case if the LED lights were removed. That space could be used for the push button. The CS7 doesn't lend itself to being able to activate the push button very easy when mounted on the handle. Belt mounting, and you still have the same problem of needing a extra hand.
