Question about praying...

Pete in MI

New member
Maybe its me or maybe its the Holy Spirit. There are many times I find the need to pray for others. It might be seeing an ambulance running down the road with light flashing, maybe the sirens of police or fire vehicles. Those to me are a no brainer....the Holy Spirit in me saying 'pray now'. There are times when there is a gut feeling...no outward signs like sirens, a crowd gathered in a supermarket (possibly someone collapsed on the floor), etc. just a feeling someone somewhere needs prayers and it can't wait. I am sure many of you have experienced similar situations.

I guess sometimes I am too sensitive to things. I will admit there are times I cry - so I love a good movie with a happy ending (and avoid those with horrible endings). What I am starting to see is from time to time I will have a tear run down my cheek from just one eye for no apparent reason. Sometimes it is both eyes. Yet there is no apparent reason for the tear(s). Maybe it is a physical thing or is it the Holy Spirit again using even this as a means of telling me there is someone somewhere in need of prayer. I don't know. What I do know is that when that happens...I pray for God to help whoever and where ever the need is and that His Will be done and that needs are met. Only God knows what people really need and I have to give Him my permission in prayer to intervene in whatever way is best according to His Will.

Does this make sense? Has anyone else experienced the same thing or is it just me?

all that we can do -it's good to respond to inner feelings. I do believe that our conscience is the Lord speaking directly to us. steve in so az

Good Morning Pete,

Brother...have you given consideration to the possibility that it's both? Firstly you're sensitive to God's leading in your life and, secondly, I have that same apparent moisture flowing from one eye or both.
A friend of mine, who also had the same thing happening to her, alluded to the fact that I may have 'Dry Eye' and therefore my system is 'required' to make tears to moisten my eyes. Sounds weird but it is possible. The next time I go into the doctor, I'll ask. At any rater, continue to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His direction. You'll not ever go wrong in doing so.

It's not just you. I pray at the times you have mentioned. It is the Hly Spirit working in a man when we pray at these times.

It is a spiritual gift my friend. Intersecion.

They told my wife she had a clogged tear duct causing random tearing up. Still has the tearing that appears to be Holy Spirit driven

Keep praying, Bro Pete, because as true believers in Christ, we are to pray for one another and God's Holy Spirit will move deep within to let us know someone needs prayer and even causes a sadness or depression to come upon us when He is urging us to do so, sometimes! He has even let me know who to pray for by putting that person or persons on my mind! The Spirit within us is very sensitive, especially when we are spirit-filled with God's wonderful love, mercy and grace! May God Bless! Sister Betty
