Question about saving patterns?

I have my machine setup using Bryces iron mask settings. When I try to save these settings in a memory like S1 it doesn't let me save the iron mask pattern.

Am I doing something wrong or does the explorer se just not allow you to save the iron mask pattern. The IM pattern does show up on the smart screen so I thought it should work.

It saves an all metal pattern (clear) and turns iron mask off. Is this normal?

After looking quickly at the book; does it just save the patterns from the default list?

Hi, I am thinking you will need to go into edit and make a screen that looks like the iron mask screen you would like to save. And as far as settings besides the disc you will need to save as either user a or user b in the save menu. Once you have all the other settings besides iron mask saved, its no problem to dial in the amound of iron mask you feel is best for the situation. Hope this helps and good luck.

Yes, you need to save your settings in the User A or B spot. I have my Iron Mask settings saved here. Be sure and get all of your other setting done before saving them though. I mean setting like the gain, fast or deep, volume and such b/c they will be saved as well. The nice thing is when you go to those setting then it comes up excatly as set. I have my User A settings set for trashy areas with Fast and 18 sensitivity locked and my B settings for Deep targets with the sens at 28 locked. I run pretty much wide open in the Iron Mask mode. Hope that helps. I'm still learning new things about this machine even after using an XS for about 10 years, I finally broke down and purchased an SE Pro and now keep the XS for a backup.

My issue is a little different but I think I figured it out. I was just thinking about it in the wrong way.

I was setting the detector up with your program which included having the iron mask on. While the iron mask descrimination shows up on the smart screen it really not an actual pattern that you can save in s1, etc. Iron mask is a setting, not a descrimation pattern that can be saved. Instead you have to save your setting as a USER A or B, I saved it as USER A and it worked fine when I loaded it. Your settings are just that, settings. I was trying to save what I saw in the smart screen thinking of it as a pattern.

I hope I am making sense. It's hard to type this out. This is one cool detector.
