Question about settings on Excalibur 1000 for all metal

Hi:
I have just finished reading the new Excalibur book by CJC and he mentions an all metal search mode to cover an area in the water. Can someone please tell me what the control dials need to be set at for this mode on my Excalibur 1000. Also, when switching the last knob from Disc to Pinpoint, what does pinpoint actually do to the signal you are trying to locate?

Thanks to all for any help,
Joe

Careful here Joe, cjc says fresh and light salt for all-metal. Is that your conditions? You may want to send him a PM and ask for additional details on this matter. In my area the Disc setting gets increased depth over the Pinpoint. Best to check it both ways. For additional information, send me a PM, perhaps I can help you. How long have you been using the unit? GH

When the sensitivity dial is fully counter-clock wise the machine is in auto mode.Moving the sensitivity dial clockwise at all, is all metal mode and you have the full range of sensitivity to work with.
