Without having another X-Terra 70 for a reference point, I was wondering if it's normal for the tones to sound strangled a bit, when in 99 tones?
When in 4 tones, the tones are clean.

But that said, I use 3 or 4 tones most of the time as it provides a single tone most of the time on identified targets and gives me an idea of what it is. If it jumps between tones then more likely it is junk or a mixed target situation.
It sounds very close to the same as my Explorer does when you go over a screw cap. It gives a bit of a wobble as it passes over. Coins tend to sound more even, although they can fluctuate a bit. It'll take a bit more experience before I can say that it will be useful or not, but will enjoy finding out. In the mean time, I'll have to send it in for repair as the numeric display doesn't fully light up (ie when 28 shows up, I get either a backwards 9 or an E instead of the
