question about the kruzer

I know the wireless headphones or not waterproof, but can you used the detector in the water, even with the control box under water,as long as you dont drop the phones off your head?

No. It is my understanding that as soon as the control box is submerged the connection would be lost. That is why they are making the underwater (waterproof) phones soon to be available. They will be wired though...not wireless. Hope this helps.

Yes you can use the detector underwater if you use the vibration feature, but there will be no sound with the control box under water.

ok,what i guess im trying to find out is,the atpro that i use to have came with a cheaper set of non waterproof head phones, that i used water hunting.what kind of plug will the waterproof phones use, and what kind of female plug will be on the control box.?

M12 connector 8 pin, most can be purchased with cable attached

Sven: Do you know the pin out on the Multi Kruzer? Since this connection is used for multiple task such as charging, external battery pack and phones, it would seem that
the pin out would be required for correct phone connection and to silence the external speaker. I use this connector on all but one of my machines. Thanks

Sven do you make your own headphone setups ?

I don't know the pinout at the moment. Its very easy to check with a multi meter. Take the kruzer corded headphone adapter. Plug in 1/4 headphone plug, check which M12 pins are conductive with the headphone plug pins.
Then wire up the M12 plug to the same pins.

You can order a Whites, Garrett, Fisher waterproof headphones, replug and they should work fine, maybe not real comfy to wear.
The Detectorpro Amphibians should work well.

Its easy enough for me to make my own. I have used non waterproof headphones with a waterproof plug many times. Never had them fall off my head. So I saved a lot of money.
I have also made waterproof headphones pictured below.

WOW. Very impressive Sven. I'm not that electronically literate. I wouldn't even know where to buy parts to do stuff like that. It would be cool to learn something like that though because of the money you could save.

Hi Sven-

I'm somewhat handy.
Would you consider a parts sourcing list and a writeup/video etc. to explain how to make one? Waterproof phones run 100-300. Wouldn't mind making one myself.
What do you think?

Thanks

Lubber

thanks all for your feedback.my final opinion is they should have made sure they had the headphones we could screw on to the box and water hunt.before they came out with the detector.another words come out with both at the same time.just my two cents.

Sven. Yes it would be very easy to do if I had the adapter, but I don't. That is why asked you.
