Question about v-rated and non v-rated

Fishfinder

New member
Hi Everyone. I am selling a CZ 10.5" coil V-rated on the accessories site and I got a question asked if a V-rated will work on a non v-rated mxt. I do not know myself but thought some of you might know please. Thanks for your time, Cliff

V-Rated??
I think that's the question.

The only reference to V-Rated that I know of is to the Whites V3-i series of detectors.
Also the reply you got back about it working on a "Non V- Rated mxt" the MXT is also a Whites brand detector.

It sounds like you have a listing for a CZ coil which in the world of the Whites Detectors will not work at ALL! CZ's or their coils are not V-Rated.

Non V-rated would be Whites pre V3 models.
V-Rated would be coils that would work on the newer Whites V3 models which are three frequency machines.

I went and checked out your adds, seems you have two different coils for sell, one is a CZ coil and the other is a Whites coil.
I took your post here to read that you were selling a CZ coil that was V-Rated LoL!

You might do better to ask your question on one of the Whites forum here on this site.

But, I'll still try to help you a little.

Whites V3 models are like I said three frequency machines with their own coils (V-Rated= V3 series) and so the coils for them would be of course V-Rated for those models.

Now, the MTX is a single frequency machine and so the coils for them would NOT be V-Rated. (I believe the MTX runs at 6.59hz)

Yes a V rated coil will work on a MXT or any of the newer Whites except for the 6.59 units. The MXT is 14+ KHZ. The V coils are needed to compensate for the 22.5 KHZ that the V3i and VX3 use. They just have a more accurate null.

It's a White's issue, doesn't have anything to do with First Texas - Fisher products.

However I happen to know just enough about this to be pretty sure that Rob-IL's post is accurate. For further details please consult the White's forums.

Plain and simple the V rating pertains to Whites coils. Go to the Whites forums for info.

A CZ coil will work on a CZ period and is not interchangeable with Whites coils...

Fishfinder, sorry to hear about your kidney failure!
And the listing mistake really just reflects how serious medical conditions and medications/treatments affects a person.
Glad you doing better now!
And I wish you the best of recovery, along with a speedy and full recovery.

Glad it got worked out for you,Fishfinder. Best of luck to you. It's actually pretty cool... two of my favorite models of detectors on one forum! What do ya think Dave?! Can we make it happen? :bouncy:
