Question..AT Max

This detector is for my brother I'm purchasing it for his birthday so I'm trying to get it right . It's between the AT Max and the amphibio multi...My question... If you discriminate iron will you still hear it come through the detector... I've read a post saying you can discriminate iron out but you won't see it on the screen but you will still hear it come through the detector is this the case.....Do you guys think it is suitable for occasional Beach in saltwater..

It depends. If you notch out the lower conductivity in the iron range, withe iron audio turned on, you will get that iron grunt. If you turn the iron audio off, it will be silent. Either way, you still get a cursor aimed at that target's particular number.

Thx so much for the info...Top of the day to ya..

That's a really nice feature on the AT series. When you go over iron the threshold does not null or blank out like many other detectors.
