Question Etrac vs Equinox vs CTX 3030

Hello, I have not been detecting much for about 10 years and not at all for few years. Now it looks like I’ll have time to get back into the hobby. I’ve used Fishers CZ-7A, Sovs (XS and XS2A pro) and a few others, my current detector is an Explorer XS, an early one. I’m debating getting a fresh machine for a new start and have been reading the posts. There are plenty of really informative comparisons of the Explorers, Etrac, CTX and Equinoxes but I have a couple of questions. I actually like fiddling with the adjustments and tuning the detector about as much as hunting, I don’t prospect or hunt in salt water at all, and weight isn’t really an issue. Sometimes I regret getting rid of the old Sovereigns, they had a very fast response when a target was encountered (at least as I remember it), they seemed less "laggy" than the Explorer even with a slow swing. So with that I’m looking at either an ETrac, a Nox, or CTX 3030, I’ve read some really insightful comments on folks who have used all of these and would really appreciate any advice. Thanks and Happy Hunting.

There are going to be as many different opinions on these three as there are owners. All are very capable and will find stuff. I own an ETrac and CTX and thoroughly enjoy both. All are very adjustable. If I were you I’d get an Equinox 800 or wait for the new Makro/Nokta multi frequency release.

Nox 800 waterproof and and great all around lightweight detector I do very well with mine the nox is super fast to
