Question for all you 10x14 users

Usually the bigger coils pick up on the larger relics and miss the smaller items like coins etc.
Is this correct? If I buy the 10x14 am I going to miss out on the smaller items like coins just to get
more depth?

What has been your experiences with this coil so far. Kellyco still has the coil for $99.95 but I don't know
for how much longer.

i have had mine for about a month now and i am now finding all those deeper older coins i couldn't get to before. its like starting each site all over again. the only problem i am having is getting the coil to stay in position. i am unable to tighten it down hard enough to hold it in place. i have already broke 1 plastic bolt trying to tighten it down besides that everything else is great. you will be able to cover more ground with the bigger coil. my opinion, go for it.it will pay for itself in no time.

I have one and the size of coins you definately wont miss. I have found that the sensitivity usually drops off around 1 gram, which is the size of half a .22 bullet. Go for it, good to have in the arsenal.

I found more coins even coins on the surface. Small peices of foil to a back of a earring at 1" I have found more coins in less time with it than the smaller coils.

Everyone has different experiences but it my experience it works perfectly.

Have you read my field test on Garrett's 10x14 over at Lost Treasure? You won't have any trouble picking up small stuff but remember DD's love bottle caps with a passion.

Someone makes and markets a gizmo for holding your coil in place but I can't remember who. I'll see if I can find it. If not I'll just invent one. :)

Bill

Thanks.
Is it a common problem holding the coil in place? Does anyone else have that problem?
I'll have to go read Bill's report at Lost Treasure. Thanks for the tip.

I find a lot of post ear ring, and the mono coil will find small GOLD chains and nuggets Can't find the needle in the hay stack, cut the needle in 4 pies, throw them into the hay stack and I can find them with the mono coil . This is how well I fell about the 10x14 mono COIL.

that's awesome to hear just bought a gtp 1350 and had one thown in the deal and some other goodies trying to locate a 4.5 crossfire2 sniper coil

Yeah man, KellyCo sells those loop supports to hold your searchcoil in place. They're on sale now for ten bucks.
Hey, amcjavelin, I'm pretty sure that KellyCo sells those 4.5" Crossfire2 searchcoils. None of my machines use the Crossfire2, but I'd be surprised if KellyCo didn't have any.
Best of luck to ya'!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
