Question for F75 LTD users.......

I am set up in DE mode sensitivity about 60 every other setting in factory position, and when I swing the detector I get the normal pops, crackles, and snaps, but about every 5Th swing I get a really good nice high tone which sounds like it might be silver. A couple of more swings it goes away, then comes back, and goes away. Does anyone know what causes that? The big thing it slows me down while hunting, having to stand there and investigate a bad signal. Anyone have any ideas, should I use less sensitivity, or what.

After checking the connectors.
Set to all metal sens 99.
Listen to the threshold.
Change to each frequency until you find the one that is the smoothest.
Once the frequency is chosen switch to discrimination mode.
Next ground balance.
Now set the sensitivity to 50, disc 5 or 6.
If you still seem to get falsing lower sensitivity to 40.
Finally remember the "read me first" paper that came with your machine.

I have proved many times that a even at lower sensivity settings the LTD can out hunt many of the other machines on the market.
My personal settings for high EMI areas is usually sens 45, disc 1 or 2, 4H, BP.
I've actually dug silver at 11" deep with these settings.
Hope this helps.

Never had mine to do that, like Big Boys said check everything, try another location. If you have another coil you my want to try and see if you still have the same problem.

Good luck,

If you are movung while you are swinging, I would say that you are picking up the eyelets in your boots/shoes. The fact that it is being repeated on a constant basis would lead you to believe that it is something along this line. That is not to rule out emi, which is becoming as big an issue as ground mineralization. The big ole surprise ----steel toed boots. lol lol lol

Man that's a good one, I would have never thought of that one. Good stuff

It is probably an EMF or Ground Balance issue. Go back and check your settings. Like they said, you have steel or brass around your feet/shoes...

Do you have pin-pointer on your hip? Mine picks up my Pro-pointer when I swing all the way to the same side that I carry my probe on. I moved my pinpointer on my belt around to my back and it went away. Although, it only does that to me when I'm running really hot. It surprises me that yours would pick it up at a lower sensitivity.

The detector was improperly ground balanced. I went detecting today and ground balanced the detector and had not problem at all. Thanks for all your suggestions

the steel toe boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:crylol:I did that one time it took me an hour to figure it out. then I had to extent the detector rod to full length, really wore out the forearms. Craig

Great I am glad that you got this figured out---sometimes it is two or three things and you just have to do one at a time----good job!!!!!!
