Question for Monte

Monte, I know that I have read on here your posting about the settings you use on your T2 and I can't for the life of me find it. I did find the omega one but when I do a search on T2 in the teknetics forum area, it comes back with no results. (Odd I know)

So my question is this....I have a natural hunt coming up in an old field. What settings do you think would be beneficial for this type of hunt? There may be coins and relics and such there.

With an Omega or T2, when I hunt common inner-city type coin-producing sites like playgrounds or around picnic tables, etc., I will use Tone ID to my favor and that would be 4 on the T2 and d4 on the Omega. For virtually all other hunting I use 2+ on the T2 and d2 on the Omega. I also generally set the T2 Discrimination at '0' and the Omega at '1' which is their lowest Discriminate setting. that allows me to hear ALL metal targets, and the 2+ or d2 Audio Tone selections let me hear most iron from non-iron. that's a function that I like.

I also make sure I run with the highest Sensitivity/Gain possibly w/o too much chatter and ensure that I have, and maintain, a good functional Ground Balance. I did post elsewhere in a reply earlier today some of the other settings I sometimes use, but only when the abundance of iron nails is disgustingly annoying, then I use only enough to knock out nails. With the T2, on some occasions, and when I am not concerned about iron trash at a site, I might set the Discrimination at '50' simply because there is a tiny increase in depth/responsiveness. At least in some ground and with some targets.
