Question for PI pro guys

Jason in TN

New member
Took my Pi PRO dual field to a lake yesterday that had a swimming area with a light layer of sand over red clay.
when i got to the red clay I would get unstable making alot of noise I could still pick out what were shollow targets
but what should I do to get it to run better next time? I did lower the gain which seemed to help. Was scared to turn
the pulse delay up for fear of maybe loosing gold rings. Any info would be great. Thanks

Jason

I would imagine that you would have to adjust the pulse delay and the gain until you get it stabilized. With the Gain at preset, try setting the delay at the 9:00 position. Increase or decrease to find a point of stability. Don't forget to maintain your threshold. You may loose some depth but so what.

I agree with Horsesoldier...a stable detector is most important...even at the cost of some depth. Unless you can clearly distinguish the targets from the chatter ( and the deep, smaller targets give off faint threshold changes so it's tough), then adjust your machine to run smooth.

That's what makes the Dual Field so much better then the Pro. The Delay switch has returned. It will stabilize most soil conditions. However extreme red clay may need a ground balancing pulse detector.
