Question for the tech heads

You may have mentioned this but I couldn't find it. What pulse rate are you using? Generally, a PI detector that is designed for large coils and larger/deeper objects can run at 100's rather than 1000's of pulses per second. The pulse rate obviously has a bearing on the heat dissipation in the power transistor and damping resistor. It is a good idea to make the pulse rate variable over a small amount to avoid synchronous interference from power line noise or low frequency r.f. sources.
