Question for you Surf Hunters

I am curious, do you guys (and gals) tether your detector and or scoop to yourselves?

Just wondering. I thought about doing this as I find it more convenient to use both hands
when wrestling that monster scoop. If you do, how about some pictures showing how you did it.

I made a hip mount kit belt that I can come out of in less than one second using one finger. The last thing I would ever want is to slip off a sand bar and fall in too deep water while getting tangled up in cords. I think the possibility of drowning would seriously increase with tethered crap attached to your hips.

I used the scoop and shaft as crutches. It braced me to the floor when the big waves came but at chest deep they where hard to handle and prevent me from moving well. It feels very unsafe.

I have a pvc cuff on my detector on the right arm and I just drag my stainless scoop behind me until I need it. I do not tether them to me because if it comes to life or death drowning situation they are gone, God forbid. HH
