UPS tracking says my E-Trac should arrive tomorrow. This is my first metal detector and I hope to be in the field for the first time tomorrow after work. I've read the manual and along with the E-Trac I ordered Andy's book. The first site I'm going to is a private picnic area that is rented out for many events over the past 60+ years. It has never been hunted before.
I have a couple of questions.
1. In the factory preset for coins will it pick up gold jewelry or should I combine jewelry with the coin setting so I don't miss anything? After reading the manual and threads I think I understand combining.
2. Is the factory beach mode for salt water beaches only or will it work on fresh water beaches on lakes. If not what setting should I use.
