When ever you ask that kind of question, you must state what the DIAMETER and THICKNESS as well as the METALS of the coin, to which you are referring.
Those THREE parameters are essential for a meaningful reply.
Beware, modern coins are often alloyed, so you cannot easily define or analyse them in simple terms.
Their ID will be highly frequency dependent.
You mentioned a 'copper' coin. Is it truly copper? Because no such coin should be 'equivalent' to foil.
(Unless the copper coin is very thin (less than a mm, or very small,less than 10 mm)
I personally don't have the T2 yet,so cannot answerer your query in absolute terms.
