Question on charging my Excal using battery power from vehicle.......

Bottomfeeder

New member
Hi all.
I will be heading down to Sobe in a few weeks for an extended hunt. To save money, and because the wife has no interest in living in our fifth wheel, I will be sleeping in my van.
My question is, can I charge my Excal with the van battery? I mean an overnite 10 hour charge, without draining it?
I will have little or no access to regular electrical service, as I intend to wander here and there, actually "camping' on the street so to speak.
Or would I be better off bringing a deep cycle trolling battery along, keeping it charged by connecting it into the vans alternator charge, then using the deep cycle to charge the excal?
Does this make any sense?
Or should I fork over better than a thousand bucks to stay in a motel???
I am a notorious cheap skate, (according to my wife anyhow), please advise me on the battery charge.
Whats the drain on a car battery if the engine isn't running while charging the excal??

Hey Bottomfeeder your wife is not the only one I have the same problem, I hope when she (mine) retires they give her a bag of marbles cause its gettin to where when I come up with someplace to go she comes up with 4 other places in the opposite direction!

Best of luck on the trip and bring her home some gold!
