Has any one ever experienced getting a 51 reading and a high coin tone on a deep target dug down 10 to 12 inches could not find the item tried my pinpointer nothing,i hit several of these hits in a area of of old homes from around 1880,also the hit was hard to pinpoint, could this be deep iron would appreciate if anyone else had this experience before....Thanks Sal

I have gotten a deep dime to read in the low 40s because of the mineralization. You might check your 4 way sweeps and see if you get a negative number below 30. Most of my ghost signals are 73's

How does it pinpoint?

I think you are picking up a deep target myself..When I had mine did get two nice large buckles and some large junk with a 51 reading....sort of like the #95 on an XLT could be junk, hot rock or also a nice deep coin...

+51 on the C$ is thought of as kind of a reading you get for certain items, usually deep, that basically the C$ is unsure of or unable to ID properly. In my area, it throws iron loaded hot rocks into the 51 area. We usually skip over these. Another tip may be to swap into the deeper all metal mode to see if you get a better ID.

Dan i hit about 3 of these targets stooped digging around 12 inches, the unit said it was deep but pinpointing was a bit funny but on my whites when i get a hotrock i cant pinpoint it at all, thanks for the help...Sal

That usually happens with the hot rocks we have here. They just plain won't pinpoint.....then you know it's time to move on.
