You can remove a notch(es) to your liking. If there is a particular piece of junk where you are detecting which is becoming annoying, you can notch it out, which removes the audio. The cursor will still be there. On the other hand, if you are searching for a lost earring, you can see where the earring reads, and notch out everything else but the earring reading, to help with your search.
