Question on medallion (Horse Bridle U S ? ) period.

I found this on a site with military activity, dating from 1850's to 1950 off and on. Can anyone id it for sure? I think it is a Horse Bridle Rosette. It is bronze, has a cross hatched background, but the U S is not block form. Come on, and someone tell me circa 10,000 BC or what? LOL It is barely larger than a US Quarter. I have also found a Federal Artillery Button on the same property which per the button book, shows to be from the 1850's. Depth of the two were about 8 inches.

Also, as an aside, I was using my E-Trac, 12X15 SEF, and I found a small, really small silver medal there, of Jesus, about 2.5 inches down. This is about the size of a pencil eraser tall, and about the same diameter across. I was surprised by the large coil snaggin such a small critter.

Gracias!

Nice find. I'd sure guessed it older than it was. Of course 100 yrs. is getting there. Thanks for the picture.
