Question on pitch holh

I just bought a new explorer se and i see it has pitch hold. My explorer 11 doesn't have it. When would you use it does anybody use it Thanks explorerjim.

Its great in open ground or on the beach. I have mine on all the time, but in cluttered areas its not quit as useful. The threshold tone changes when you might not have noticed that slight weak beep otherwise. I find it real useful on the beach. You go for long distances without nociticing a beep..... but the threshold will change.

I use it all the time. when you are going over targets it will make the high sound last until you hit your next one giving your ears a little longer to catch the sound. if you dont use it the machine will go back to the threshhold pitch after the target. very hard to explain with type.

Does the Pitch Hold setting tend to hide deep weak signals while it is still signaling the last target?
