remember them?? Gold Mountain was some plastic junky things made by Garrett I think, & advertised in Popular Science magazine. I have a BFO one in my "treasure room". I have a nice Wilson-Newmann Daytona too. Funny lookin' thing from the early 80's. Has a short somewhere, so I was hoping Mr. Bill could check it out for me someday.....

Not really sure what it would look like but it sure
would have some interesting colors.
And yes, I have used a D-Tex. Believe that way back
then their coils were interchangeable with Garrett.
Seemed to be a pretty good TR in low mineralization
like here in Florida. Man, that was a long time ago
but it was after I had a Metrotech. They don't make
them like that any more. Thank goodness

some other forums and saw several post on the Garrett forum mentioning something new to come from Garrett within the next month or so...
Darryl (La.)

is swooning over the Ace 150 & 250 that they are actually Bounty Hunters painted green & yellow.

This is called the "Coinshooter I" from the early 70's. (I wanna say '74 maybe?) I wonder if the saying "Coin-shooting" evolved from this? It's a really small thing. Sorta would be looked at as a childs unit nowadays. What's kinda interesting is you see no coil wire wrapped around the rod. Much like Minelabs it's inside the rods...

Thanks for posting the picture Bill. Had a couple
of D-Tex detectors but not like yours. One of them
had the coil wire unside the rod too. Bill Mahan,
I believe his name was, was the pitch man for D-Tex.
Listening to him you just had to believe that a
D-Tex detector was the greastest thing going. Anyhow
we thought they were good at the time and found all
kinds of interesting things with them. Guess that's
all that matters. Wouldn't trade my C$ for one
though

I guess they were once one of the best back in the day. I have some other old detectors in my collection I can post someday too, including 2 old Fishers

Wish I would have kept some of my old detectors
but only have so much space and have to try and
keep peace in the family...if you know what I mean.
