Question?

And where can you really use a coil of that size...Seems like a trashed area would be out of the question just because of targets under the coil all at once.
I think it's going to weigh more and not less, or at least all that substance on the bottom of the rod is going to feel heavy.

For me a little extra weight is no problem. I want Find's. I have a way's to go before I am complaining about a few grams of weight. When that time comes I'll take up Bingo or Shuffle board.

Don't know what PT Barnum has to do with it. People buying it know, or should know, that it's heavier when they buy it. If there are otehr advantages, that's up to them to balance the issues.

I am also thinking about purchasing this coil. Who knows I may get a bug up my rear and order one from overseas. I have not had a chance to take out my SE Pro yet so I need to get some lessons with that thing before I purchase any more stuff. Besides if I drop $300+ for a coil my wife will leave me with all the kids. :cheekkiss:

"a sucker is born every minute" meaning in this case: that it is possible that a coil and name change for essentially the same machine would cause a stir in some making them want to buy this model as well to try it and spend their money. I personally think Minelab machines are super as is the company but this change may be more for marketing/revenue but I certainly hope this isn't the case...I really think it's hard to beat the stock 10.5 coil for depth and performance overall especially considering when physics are applied to the coil design....JMHO...HH

You maybe right Chris about the Minelab coil, but I have heard the Detech Coil is "Very" good, and has a proven track record. I think I just read that it was tested against the "new" Minelab coil, and it tested deeper, but not as light. The slight difference in weight doesn't bother me. I think that double coil has some definite advantages.
