Questions about diggers

Are there any digging tools out there that have anything other than straight handles. Something a little more ergonomic than a straight shaft handle that digs into your palm?

sure, mine looks like this( not my picture) only way to get through this Arizona dirt.

I just picked up a Predator Tools Little Mac and it is pretty awesome. It's the same as their Raptor 31C except with a T handle. They also make one called the Model 69 - The Spike. It also has a T handle, but the head is more conventional shaped. They are pretty small, my Little Mac is like 18 inches long, it's my goto Park digger now. I just spray painted it olive drab green to not stand out so much. Sitting in the T Handle belt holster it has the same public profile of a conventional hand digger.

I have the Raptor and like it the most on non dry soil. I find it comfortable enough but the handle on the Whites Digmaster is much more comfortable for me. It's thicker, stickier and stays clean because of the hand guard. I use the Digmaster when the soil gets really dry. It definitely doesn't move as much dirt as the Raptor does though.

Hand trowel like a Lesche

I’ll check out the predator tool. My girl likes to go with me, but she is
Small And has a hard time with the lesche easpecially when it’s dry... I was hopi g. To find something with a little more
Leverage and easier on her palm.

I will check out the raptor.

(High maintenance and food, intensive)
Works in all weather, day or night, is splashproof and self-propelled.
Takes a licking and keeps on digging!

Vladislav Tepes! (the rumor of my demise is greatly exaggerated!)
The Marie model digger is top rated-will go through rock or roots, guaranteed not to break....unaffected by worms (snakes are another matter, especially cobras, and pythons-up tp 20 feet) :poke:
(That new one is my second from there; the 1st was a Pinay/ Chinese model, defective quality and workmanship-bent and folded at sight of worms-would not dig, except casino-the Frankenstein Model.)

Forgive the typos.... damned tiny cell phone screen.... I had one of those diggers but mine was made in Thailand.... wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then.

girls are great.
look on youtube for Scott Mallon at, An American in Bangkok

Some of the funniest craziest stuff I've ever seen.

What is it called ? Looks interesting and might work better one handed in soft soil,,,,,,,,,,,

Decades ago I had an XLT. I learned how to use custom programs and I found a huge amount of coins and relics for 25+ years. My first digger was a long shank screwdriver. My XLT was so accurate that I inserted the screwdriver and popped almost every item out of the ground without a scratch, 25 years later, I backed my truck over that XLT and flattened it. Now its an AT pro, an orange carrot, Fiskars shovel and an old US army bayonet that are my crew now. Peace Roy
