Questions for All My Fellows Hunters On the Christian Metal Detecting Forum

A Message to My Fellow Metal Detecting Friends and Brothers & Sisters In Christ

For a long time now, many of you have openly and privately stated your interest in my posting Bible lessons each day. So I have done so and occassionally I've posted other articles, which I believe show the truth of God's Word. Like the Bible lessons, the 'other' material has been warmly welcomed until recently. One particular individual has written, in a private message, stating his displeasure in my posting Bible lessons and wants me to stop. He cited that this was a metal detecting forum and that everyone here was already saved and that I was 'preaching to the choir' and therefore there was no reason to share God's Word with anyone.

Obviously I disagreed with him, in that there are many who visit the Christian Forum who may not be saved, and told him he was free to not read the postings if it bothered him. He then again sent me a message stating his original message that my sharing wasn't needed and to stop posting Bible lessons and other religious material. If I were to read between the lines, it appears that this particular gentleman, if I may use the term, is sitting on a fence between belief and disbelief and his ears hurt when the truth of God's Word reaches him. He's comfortable where he's at and doesn't want anything or anyone upsetting his spiritual apple cart, so to speak.

So what do all of you think? Should I indeed stop posting Bible lessons? Should I post only my metal detecting finds and or trips to the field, etc? Surely I don't want to be where I'm not wanted and or needed? Your thoughts please.

I do not mind your postings at all. If I can learn anything from them I am happy. Being a newer Christian it is hard for me to just dig into the Bible and be able to pull things out of it. This person may not realize that there are people like me who can benefit from yours and everyone else's posts.
My suggestion to him would be to not open up your post if it bothers him that badly.

really?????? there complaining about christian messages on a christian forum? i guess the dont want prayer requests either.
post away , i enjoy your messages!!! this has to be someone new to the forum or in a real bad moment.

that would include me, too! I will continue until Mike, our Moderator and the Guv says so.....I've been told to keep preaching, so that is what I intend to do! Don't stop, Bro Marty, as whoever doesn't want to read your posts....surely don't have to do so, for no one is forcing anyone to open and read them! This forum is a Christian Forum to post our believing faith as well as what we find when detecting! I cannot detect any longer, so I post my Christian faith and knowledge for others to maybe and hopefully know Jesus like I do! When someone kicks or balks, then that means we are doing the work that God wants us to do....to get new or weak Christians to grow in their faith or sinners to come unto Him and believe! Like Mike in MI says, Keep on, keepin' on preachig the Word of God and each of us can either read or ignore it according to our faith in Christ Jesus or even if we don't agree with how the Bible is interpreted by one another...none of us are perfect! Knowing Jesus as our own personal Savior with our sins forgiven is what counts! Amen! Ma Betty

The top of the forum states....This forum is for posting your comments about metal detecting and to provide a place where you will be able to greet your friends and express your religious beliefs without fear of being singled out as a problem to your peers.

So I would say your posting Bible lessons is OK considering it falls in the area of your religious beliefs. No one here has to open or read ones posts if the do not wish to.

don't open a post if yop don't like it. As Mike said - the forum is for both churchy things and swingy things ;) Steve in so az

That's were I get my daily reading is here, no problems here!

"""and express your religious beliefs without fear of being singled out as a problem to your peers.'''''

But we should all know this is not true!!! It totally depends on who you are here and always has. Some people yes it is true others like myself (and others) get jumped on if they say anything at all and they are NEVER taken up for or told it is okay. And nothing is ever said to the person who jumps on the other person. Partiality on this forum is HUGE.

all started with the posting of BO and they wanted you, Lisa and me to stop for most knew about him and they were tired of the posts! That caused a lot of hard feelings and I even left the forum for a little while, but I and Lisa forgave and came back! Mike will let you back posting and has, for we all love you Sister Theresa and will accept your posts! Please forgive me, if I have said anything to offend you and I have stood up for you...even with Mike....so you are wrong on that account! I asked forgiveness and was forgiven and I guess Lisa, also! It is a shame about all this over a scumbag like Obama, he isn't worth our fighting and being angry with each other at all!  Ma Betty

Post away .If you don't want to read it don't open it.

Still praying for you and hope your health is better. I am sorry you feel the way you do about the forum.
May God richly bless you and your cup runneth over.

Actually, I don't think I've ever posted about Obama. I think he is SCUM, but I never got into any Obama bashing on here. There is a lot I could say about him but I figure I would only be preaching to the choir... except for the few supporters he has on here. Where my problem came from was all the talk about trying to censor other folks from talking about him. I didn't like the possibility or thoughts of trying to censor what was discussed on the forum as long as it wasn't something terribly inappropriate. It all blew up among a few of you and that's when I decided to leave for awhile. I didn't leave because I got involved in an argument with anyone, I pulled away for awhile after saying I didn't like the fact that censorship was being discussed and might become a reality. I wasn't mad, hurt or anything else. A bit surprised and irritated at some comments, but that's all. I stayed away for awhile but came back when things seemed to be completely settled down again.

that none of us liked the censoring when Mike and others wanted some of us to stop posting about BO and said they knew so didn't need the info! We had even talked about forming our own women's forum but never did! I'm sorry I got things wrong...ya know old Ma....she forgets and gets confused too often.....so forgive me, please! May God Bless and help us to keep peace on the CMD Forum, as I got banned from the Views Forum!  Ma Betty

Now I WAS in on the private discussions about forming a womens forum.

Keep posting, SS. The fact of the matter is that God's Word is a two edged sword. It can cut to the marrow. Some can deal with it and some can't. Keep it up, brother.

Maybe its the tickled ears of this man or may it even so that he may not be saved. All True Redeemed Souls long to hear the gospel,as we all must preach it amongst ourself daily to remind us of our sinful nature and the need of grace daily.

When we preach Christ crucified, we have no reason to stammer, or stutter, or hesitate, or apologize; there is nothing in the gospel of which we have any cause to be ashamed." (C.H. Spurgeon)
