Questions for Deleon users

There seems to be very little said about the Deleon on this or any other forum.

I would like to know more about this machine. How well do you like it? How does it compare with other Tesoros? Is the circuitry the same as the Cortes?

and there were other comments sprinkled among other questions. Probably would be best to do a search on DeLeon to get all of them.

ps. and yes, it does share a basic platform with the Cortes. ED-180 Disc.

"zeb" said it nicely in one of his posts - "the forgotten DeLeon"

I quote part of one of his posts...

"Please comment one and all if you use the Deleon.

This info is very hard to find anywhere else online. "

Froggy,
I wished that I could give you a more tec. answer to your question, all I can give is my experience with mine. I bought mine brand new, not knowing much about detecting, I tried mine for about 3 weeks with it giving me nothing but fits, at first I thought it was me, I read the manual, I would go out try it again and still it acted very strange. After great debate, I sent it in to be looked at, when I got it back it works like a dream, numbers and ID are right on, the only thing that I would have liked, was a explanation of what they did to it, the repair ticket listed, several part no. replacements and recalibration, but nothing explained in English. I have not had a lot time to use it this winter, but as soon as I can, I am going to plant a test garden to see how it preforms?

I think I know why you read little about the DeLeon but since I'm not here to start a war I'll just let that ride.

I've only had mine about 2 to 3 months now but I've run it through every test possible at this point. After nearly 40 years of metal detecting I must admit this machine really is the most enjoyable I've ever owned or used.

I'm not a theory person. I want finds and I don't care what a machine looks like or how many other people like it. If it finds the goodies then I like it.

On this and all other forums of this type you'll read mostly subjective comments based mainly upon very limited experience or personal bias. If you want more objective info you need to spend some time and contact the major dealers of all major brands and ask them "off the record" questions. In other words, you won't ID them and put into print what they tell you.

The best seller/distributors to contact are those in the U.K. That's where the really deep old stuff is found and many of these people will be honest with you. I've found them on a whole much better than those of the US.

For starters I'd recommend this seller:

www.garysdetecting.co.uk

There are many others but you need to make sure the person you communicate with is an actual user of the brands he sells. I've found out some really shocking things by talking to some of these people.

Best to you.
