Hello again everyone. Tried to post this the other evening, but didnt go through. I found this first peice in an old farm field. My first thought was that it had to be a triger guard off of an old musket. but a friend of mine tells me that its possibly farm junk. Does any one know what model, or if it even is a triger guard? And yes that is my signiture, but it was broken previously, luck to find both peices close together. The next item i found down about 6"aaahhhhhh. sorry dreamin for a second. A friend of mine wants me to research this for him. We know that its a Smith & Wesson 32 cal. rimfire, Possibly 1861.Is there any way to trace it to the original owner, by the serial #?
He has only heard the family stories about it , but would like to find more info. he thinks someone named Kellog owned it.
Look at the butifull engraving, and carving. A treasure fur sure.

If it is a trigger guard, it would be from a long rifle, and not military. But I don't think it is a trigger guard. I presume it is bent at 90*? As for the S/W, it looks like a model No. 2 Old Model 1861-1874. Serial #'s up to 77,155. This is the style Wild Bill Hickok had on him when he was back shot in Deadwood. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

the more i look at the peice the more i think its not a triger guard, cause if it were, the 90*peice would be sticking straight down, not up into the gun. just wish i knew WHAT it was.LOL The wild bill info is kool stuff. thanx again...............Ed
