Quick mask

treasure sstate

New member
Found out today that if you are searching in conductive; quick mask will be in conductive. If you are using TTF quick mask will be in TTF. Have not played with other then that but I am assuming that if your using 4 tone quick mask will be in 4 tone and etc. Could not find anything about that in the manual.

I'm still tinkering with quick mask and still don't know what it is doing for me. I do know that it locks onto targets that when in regular mode the sound is iffy. Am paying more attention to the CO-Fe numbers in quick mask to see what it is telling me, but too new to it to give any input.

Thx,
Moose

Quick mask is just an open discrimination pattern same as all metal for this Etrac detector. That is all it is it doesn't have anything to do with the sound.

Sounds (2tone, 4tone, multi etc.) is something different altogether they are just what you hear.

What quick mask does is let the full sound and readings to come through cleaner than when in a discrimination pattern where the ferrous is messing the sound and reading up so you have a good coin reading being skewed off because a low ferrous reading so hence an IFFY SIGNAL sound that you question wether to dig or not. Just go to a wide open quick mask from your detecting descrimination pattern and double check, the reading and the sound will be much cleaner and clearer.

If the cursor drops into the lower right hand corner it's iron trash.

I just noticed that if I was in TTF and switched to quick mask it was also running in TTF. And if I was running a coin pattern in 4 tone conductive and switched to quick mask it was also running in 4 tone.
