qxt 7.8 coil = or not equal to 800 coil?

is the qxt 7.8 coil the same or similar to the coil for xlt 8 inch? i am getting a 9.5 coil for the qxt and also am buying a xlt with the bigfoot coil and a 9.5.

just wondering how good the 7.8 would work on the xlt. the 7.8 is a "domed" coil and just am not used to a coil with that shape although i have used before with a classic id and a older garrett.

which coils do white's users prefer for the quantum/xlt/classics? and for what reasons? thanks for any help. CB

High,
The QXT and the Classics use the 6,59 kHz coils (Blue Max series)
The XLT can use the same series of coils.
For best results, set the transmit frequency on the XLT to 4 or as close to it if experiencing interference while hunting with others.
You can download the manuals for each of the machines you mentioned from the Whites homepage.

Edit: To answer your original question - the 7.8 is from the BlackMax series and is actually the same as the 800BlueMax.
Just like the 5.3Bullseye is actually the same coil as a BlueMax 600. Just with a different decal pasted on.
