Rain, silver, and old gravel driveways.

Golly, with a bit of effort, seems like the subject words could be made into a country & western tune.:)

One of the spots I hunt received 13" of rain this past weekend and whenever we get a couple inches or so, I head straight for the gravel driveways on the site. It takes an ample amount of good soaking rain to be able to dig these driveways, and that we definately had this weekend.

With all the moisture, targets were lighting up all over. Most of the targets were trash, but with the 5" coil on I hunted three of the driveways and dug 22 good targets. About double the norm for a three or so hour hunt on this site of late. The only silver was a 38 Merc. and a small 925 silver ring with an amber stone. Also got 8 wheats and the rest were pre 82 cents and a few pieces of clad. Will hit a few more again in the morning. HH jim tn

LOL ... first thought was are you hunting my gravel driveway? ... second thought was, probably would make a good country song.

Congrats on the silver!

second person will say,,"yeah!..it always has!"

as they say down tennessee way!...."it's raining!"
yeah!..."sun's on it's way!..just a little late!..is all!"

Quick someone call Steve Martin and John Candy...opps... too late :nopity:

Nice score Jim

I tried hiting an old farm house gravel driveway, but it was like chipping away at cement

I don't have a dog any more, but we did get the train in there, so thought a good ole dog was necessary for a country song, as well. Still needs a little work, though.

Brian, as I mentioned, the only time these driveways can be dug in is after a good soaking rain, and even then, its tough. The darn things, though have held some nice stuff. I got 3 silver halves out of them with my F 75.

Except for 3 wheats and a military type pin and some clad, thats two of them would give up this morning.

Well, guess I'll catch a train and hope for no more rain.
But, I will say, I will again chase silver in those old gravel driveway(s)
