Rare 1892 cap gun and Indian Head

Had a pretty interesting night of hunting a little while after I found a 1892 Indian head my wife comes over to show me a cap gun she just found we both thought it was cool and carried on hunting . After getting home and cleaning are finds we noticed the I.H. has no #1 in the date? I cant find any info on mistrikes and there is no ware around were the #1 would be? Then we researched the cap gun and here is what we found on a web site Here is a rare cast-iron Stevens Hammerless Cap Gun from about 1892, according to Logan/Best, who give it a three star rarity rating. It is 7 1/4" in length, and multishot, double action, with a wheel of five separate triggers, and a breech having ports on either side where (perhaps) a string of caps may be pulled through. There is scroll and floral design on the hammer cover and body, and dragons with pointed tongues and tails on both sides of the grip. This same gun on eBay recently sold for 465$ in undug condition. It also never dawned on us till later that both items we found were the same year weird. Thanks for lookin.

Those are two really nice finds. I hope you find out more about your IH and your gun. I found an 1896 IH and the 9 is very weak on it. Don't know about these oddities on IH's. They seem to be documented a little more on the 1900's coins.

Wow, that cap gun must have been screaming. What did it ring up as?

Nice detail on that Indian Head. I kinda see the '1' - looks a bit like a shadow though.

Always nice to find some age. Was the ground good down your way? It's like butter up here now.

Very Cool Finds!! Hit that place again for sure.
