Rare Coin???

I found this on the beach. The only info I can find is about 215 gold coins that were minted in 1898. Can someone chime in??

My Google search would seem to show it to be 3pence silver from South Africa... just google zar 3 coin.... cool find...

That was my first notion, but according to google, there were no 3 pence minted in 1898. Only from 1892-1897.

Thanks for your help. I found out it is a replica. Not sure when it was minted.
