RE: 950 Coil jack

The snow is finally melting up here in Edmonton so I just got out my MXT to make sure its working properly. I noticed something on the jack that screws into the control box housing and would appreciate it if some of you could tell whether you have the same. Anyway, I noticed that there are 5 pins, 1 in the center surrounded by 4 on the outside.
Of the 4 on the outside, only three have a metal connector inside. Are yours the same?
I also have the 4x6 and 6x10 coils and all of the holes have metal connectors in them.
Thanks for your input..RonL

What I meant was the jack at the end of my stock(950)
coil has one hole without a metal connector in it.
I,m not sure if my original post was clear.
Thanks..RonL

2transmit wires, two receive wires, and the metal connector is connected to shielding on the coil wire (so the 5th pin is unused).I think,Someone correct me if im wrong. GLUK

I sent an email off to Whites in Sweethome. Its the weekend so I'll have to wait because they are closed.
Which is no big deal since there is still snow on the ground <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">

Ron,
If they haven't changed it, Whites has used Switchcraft connectors for many years. All of the female pin holes should have a metal split female connector that accepts the male pin. That's how the electrical connection gets made. When plugging the cable into the control box it's possible to be off a little and the male pin tries to go between the split connector and the hole and collapses the split female connector. Get a magnifying glass and look closely to see if that is what has happened. If it has, you can fix it with a sharp pointed object, such as an ice pick, and carefully get the connector back in place. Always take your time when plugging the coil cable into the control box to avoid this from happening. It should plug in fairly easily and smoothly. I have collapsed those female connectors myself when I was in a hurry.
Hope this helps,
Otto...

Pin number 3 of the female connector doesn't have a
metal connector in it.
I guess I'll have to send it in. Seems like a shame for something that small.
Thanks for the info..RonL
