Here is a copy of the picture from my website ...
The button was found on a conservation trail (old dirt road) that runs off of the end of Valley Rd. in Hampstead, New Hampshire. I searched the area around where I found the button pretty throughly and only found some shotgun shell bottoms and a couple of musket balls.
I ended up donating the button to the Hampstead Historical Society's museum so you can see it on display there when it is open on Saturday's from 1 to 4 pm. There is a news release about the button on the society's website. The link to the press release is below the picture ...
